Gaby's Day in Line Drawings

Gaby loves her art class. She was so excited today because she was allowed to bring her artwork home. Here is what she made:

Gaby's Invisible Friend Chloe

Gaby has an invisible friend. Sometimes she says that Annabel can't sit in the chair next to her because Chloe is sitting there. Other times, Chloe just pops up in conversation, such as "Chloe wants cereal for breakfast too."

The other day, Gaby wanted to play her new Dora WII game, but Rob and I were busy and couldn't play with her. So she said, "That's ok, I'll just have Chloe go ask Annabel if she'll play." So Rob started to leave her to play her game alone. Moments later, she decided that she better go with Chloe because Chloe only likes to go with her, she doesn't like to go by herself.

I forgot em

A few weeks ago, I had an important investor phone call to take first thing in the morning. It was my day for drop-off and Kristin had a meeting that morning as well, so we had to scramble for options. We managed to find another parent that could take Annabel that morning, and we decided that I would take Gaby to early-care at 8:00 so that I could take my call at 8:30.

We arrived at the school around 8:15, and I opened up the passenger door and slid the backseat forward to let Gaby out of her child seat. Looking down at her, I couldn't believe my eyes.

"Where are your shoes?!" I asked, shocked and surprised to see her wearing nothing but her white socks.
"I forgot em".

"You forgot em?!"

She shrugged as she considered it. "I forgot em" she said.

So we had to go back home to get her shoes. What can you do? She forgot em. She's 5.

Gaby can now ride a two wheeler!

She saw her sister trying to ride without her training wheels today and Gaby decided to give it a try too. She is a natural and had her balance after about two tries. Uncle Rick happened to be over and he saw her first few attempts. :)

Today we went to the park and Gaby was riding up and down the basketball court, making turns at either end. She even managed to start herself off once or twice.

Amazing!

Gaby's interview on the Annabel and Gaby Show

This is a particularly solid episode of the Annabel and Gaby show. Lighting is bad, but the content is very funny. Several highlights:

Listen to Gaby humm along behind her sister because she doesn't remember the exact words to the show introduction, then she jumps in and corrects Annabel when she doesn't use the word "edition".

I still find Gaby's language and diction hysterical. She says that her favorite part of the book is when the "agition wants to be the powerfullist" translation: "When the magician wants to become all-powerful"

Also, the power of suggestion is evident in almost every question with the interviewer blatantly leading the witness and the witness completely taking the bait.

At the end when Annabel says "sorry kids, but that's it for this edition of the Annabel and Gaby show" you can hear gaby saw sadly say "awwwww" off camera. This was pre-arranged and completely directed by Annabel.

As you can see, the girls have become very close friends and playmates. It's adorable and so gratifying to see them develop ever more complex games and shorthand with each other. We are so lucky!
